Songkran Festival 2023 will last from 13 – 15 April 2023. Over the 3 days that mark the start of the Thai new year, locals will perform a series of activities from cleaning their homes, paying respect to elders by cleaning their feet with scented water, to performing religious rituals at the temples. Apart from these solemn activities, it is also a custom for Thais and foreigners alike to roam the streets and spray water at one another as a symbol of celebration, purification and rejuvenation.
2023 will be the first time traditional Songkran Water Festival’s activities such as water splashing and water-themed parties are back in full-force after 3 long years of COVID restrictions.
