Thai Lantern Festival

Loy Krathong Festival 2023 (ลอยกระทง 2566) falls on the 28 November 2023. It is the time again to thank the Thai Goddess of Water (Phra Mae Khongkha พระแม่คงคา) for the harvest and her blessings in the past year. On this full moon day in the twelfth month of the Thai lunar calendar, devotees will perform traditions such as releasing lanterns into the river and participate in a series of celebratory activities across the country.

Loy Krathong Festival 2022 (ลอยกระทง 2565) falls on 8 November 2022, the full moon day of the twelve month of the Thai lunar calendar. Colloquially known as the Thai Lantern Festival, it is on this day that lanterns are released into the river to worship Thai Goddess of Water (Phra Mae Khongkha พระแม่คงคา).
