This festival is a time to express gratitude to Phra Mae Khongkha พระแม่คงคา, the Thai Goddess of Water, for the year's harvest and blessings. On this full moon day in the twelfth month of the Thai lunar calendar, participants will embrace traditions such as releasing lanterns into the river and enjoying a variety of celebratory activities across cities and provinces including Ayutthaya, Bangkok, Chon Buri, Khon Kaen, Krabi, Pattaya, Phuket, Roi Et, Samut Songkhram, Sukhothai, Suphan Buri, Surat Thani, Surin and Tak.
