Pattaya Songkran 2024, a Thai New Year celebratory event by Pattaya City Council, will take place on 19 April 2024 from morning till late. A multitude of traditional and cultural events will unfold during the day at Wat Chai Mongkhon, while an electrifying concert awaits all visitors at Pattaya Beach from late afternoon onward. On top of these festivities, the city is abuzz with the Songkran Winlai Festival – a spectacular water splashing music party – taking place on the same day at the outdoor area of the Central Pattaya shopping mall.
Schedule of Events at Wat Chai Mongkhon
- (8:00am) Arrival of dignitaries and media
- (8:30am) Buddha bathing ceremony
- (9:00am) Speech by chairman of the event and Pattaya city mayor, Thai cultural performances and sports game
- (12:00pm) Buddha statue procession begins from the temple along designated route
- (4:00pm) Procession returns to the temple
